Improve Cash Flow with Colorado's New Retainage Bond Law

Thursday, July 16, 2026 | 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.
Hosted by Holmes Murphy
5619 DTC Parkway, Greenwood Village, CO 80111

Colorado's construction industry is entering a new era.

Beginning August 12, 2026, House Bill 26-1311 gives contractors working on qualifying private construction projects the option to utilize retainage surety bonds in place of traditional cash retainage. This important legislative change is expected to improve cash flow, increase financial flexibility, and provide contractors with another valuable tool for managing their businesses.

Join NUCA of Colorado and our member Holmes Murphy for the first in a series of educational workshops designed to help contractors understand the new law and confidently navigate the retainage bond process.

During this interactive session, you'll learn:

  • An overview of Colorado's new retainage bond legislation (HB 26-1311)
  • How retainage bonds work and when they can be used
  • The qualification and underwriting process
  • Benefits for contractors, subcontractors, and project owners
  • Best practices for implementing retainage bonds within your organization
  • A live Q&A with surety and risk management professionals

Whether you're an owner, CFO, controller, project manager, estimator, or operations professional, this training will provide practical guidance to help your company prepare before the law takes effect.

Coffee and a light breakfast will be provided.

Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insight from industry experts and learn how this landmark legislation can benefit your business.
